Franklin County Schools honors its top educators

Franklin County Schools honored some of its best and most effective teachers, administrators and employees during a ceremony on Thursday, May 23rd at the Amazing Grace Barn in Louisburg.

Dozens of educators, with their coworkers, friends and family members, gathered to celebrate and honor their spirit, dedication and professional achievements through the presentation of numerous awards:

  • Teacher of the Year: Carol Forrest, Long Mill Elementary.
  • Instructional Assistant of the Year: Kedrick Person, Youngsville Elementary.
  • Principal of the Year: Stephanie Brooks, Edward Best Elementary.
  • Assistant Principal of the Year: Wanda Keith, Louisburg Elementary.
  • Auxiliary Service Award: Youngsville Elementary.
  • Dianne Massey-Carter Award: Latoya Smith, Terrell Lane Middle.
  • Outstanding Math Teacher Award: Carah Reid, Long Mill Elementary.
  • Superintendent’s Award: Beverly Wright, Central Office

Dianne Massey-Carter Award

Recipient of Franklin County Schools Dianne Massey-Carter Award was Latoya Smith, Terrell Lane Middle School, who is pictured with Geoffrey Hawthorne, executive director of FCS's K-8 and Federal Programs.

 

Oustanding Math Teacher Award

Recipient of Franklin County Schools Outstanding Math Teacher Award was Carah Reid, Long Mill Elementary school, who is pictured with FCS's Chief of Academics Lela Baldwin.
