Cedar Creek Middle School Celebrates 20 Years

Cedar Creek Middle School (CCMS) celebrates their 20th year this month.
The school opened its doors in January of 1998. To mark this milestone, several activities are planned for current students and alumni. Principal, Bart Elliott, is organizing the event, "As a parent, principal and community member, Cedar Creek has been a big part of my life and the lives of the people of Youngsville.  20 years is quite a milestone and should be celebrated."
On Friday, January 25 students will take part in a school-wide assembly and learn about the Creek over the last 20 years. Students will also be eligible to receive one of 20 presents, representing each year, to be given out randomly that day.

Elliott says, "Cedar Creek has been a strong part of the Youngsville community for a long time, and we need to celebrate this.  Lot's of people have ties both directly and indirectly to CCMS, and many members of the community have attended or currently have family attend CCMS.  For many people, CCMS is home for them.  We have had alumni come back and get engaged here, and we have alumni whose own children now attend CCMS.  It brings about a sense of family and tradition that is special."
That evening, all alumni are welcome back to attend an evening of sports, food, and fun. Anyone who attended Cedar Creek will be able to get into the girl's and boy's basketball games for free! Families are encouraged to come out and purchase dinner from one of several food trucks and make an evening of it. "It is great to see former students attend events and bring their knowledge and experience.  Alumni bring a sense of history," Elliott adds.
In between the games, there will be a special presentation with guest speakers. During the boy's half-time period, there will be a drawing for lifetime entry to all Cedar Creek Middle School sporting events.
