Closed Monday, March 16 Due to Severe Weather Forecast

Due to the potential for severe weather in our region, Franklin County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, for all students and staff.

Current forecasts indicate the potential for wind gusts exceeding 75 mph, along with the possibility of tornadoes and hail. Sustained wind gusts above 40 mph can create significant safety concerns for school buses, including the risk of buses swaying during transport. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families, the decision has been made to close schools for the day.

For staff, tomorrow will be an optional remote workday, and additional guidance will be provided by supervisors. All FCS buildings will be closed for everyone.

All school activities, including field trips, athletics, facility rentals, and after-school events, are also canceled.

We encourage families to continue monitoring local weather reports and to take appropriate precautions as the storms move through our area. Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
