Mrs. Maria Styers

Mrs. Styers graduated from Louisburg High School. After graduation from Meredith College, she worked in the interior design field for seven years. She has taught a variety of Family and Consumer Science classes at Franklinton High School since 1998 and now teaches only culinary arts classes. She attended North Carolina Central University to earn her licensure and East Carolina University to earn her Masters in Career and Technical Education. Mrs. Styers is National Board Certified. She is the chair of the Career and Technical Education Department and serves as Lead Mentor at FHS, working with new teachers.  Email Mrs. Styers

Ms. Jennifer Burnette

Ms. Burnette is a Franklin County native and graduated from Louisburg High School. She then attended East Carolina University where she obtained her degree in education. After graduating she began working for the Cooperative Extension Service where she worked for five years. In 2001, she decided to pursue her love of teaching. Over the last 18 years she has worked with students at both the middle and high school levels. She is excited to continue her teaching career as a member of the Red Ram Faculty. Email Ms. Burnette

Mrs. Davis earned a BA degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University and also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from East Carolina University. She taught at the community college level for over 10 years and has been at the high school level for 7 years teaching business electives. Mr. Kearney

Mr. Kearney graduated from Louisburg High School in 1974. He then went to The Professional Academy of Broadcasting in Knoxville, Tenn. where he obtained a First Class FCC 
Radiotelephone operators license. From there he worked as a broadcast maintenance engineer, director, and master control operator at WECT TV6 in Wilmington,NC and WTVD 11 in Durham,NC. He is a self taught machine language, basic, HTML, and some C++ programmer and is familiar with the Dos, Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems. After working as an engineer for 12 years, Mr Kearney decided to try something different and started his own audio/video production business doing commercials, voice overs, and videography for local businesses, as well as businesses in Virginia. He has written and produced tv programs for Time Warner Cable and others. That business led to teaching at Franklinon 
High School where Mr Kearney is one of the few teachers that get to teach their "hobby". After doing a couple of marketing videos for FCS, Mr Kearney was offered the position 
of Digital Media teacher. He came in lateral entry and received his teaching certificate from Southwestern Community College and has been teaching students how to edit video, audio, graphics, and animation as well a build web sites. He is also an avid chess player. Email Mr. Kearney

Mr. Tommy Kemp

Mr. Kemp graduated from FHS in 1978 and from there he went to North Carolina State University earning degrees in Animal Science and Agronomy in 1983. Mr. Kemp work in Agribusiness sales for Gold Kist out of Atlanta until he came home to farm until 1999. During that time, Mr. Kemp also earned a BA in Political Science and History at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1996. Mr Kemp went to work for Franklin County Schools as an Agriculture teacher in August of 1999. He earned his Master's Degree in Agriculture Education from North Carolina State University in 2003. Mr. Kemp earned his National Board Certification in Career & Technical Education in 2004 and recertified in 2013. Mr. Kemp coached golf at FHS from 2000 to 2005 and earning Conference Coach of the Year his last three years of coaching. Mr Kemp earned a Master's Degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University in 2011. Ms. Ross (Paez) moved to North Carolina from Georgia and started working in the Vance County Schools as a Lateral Entry Teacher. This is her first year here at Franklinton High teaching Business. She attended American Inter-Continental University and obtained her B.A. in Business Administration and Masters of Education Technology and Curriculum Design. She also attended NC State to complete all courses in the area of Business and Marketing required for Lateral Entry completion. Mr. Walker, 1979 FHS graduate, is a life long resident of Franklin County and came to FHS as a Lateral Entry Teacher. He atttended St. Augustine’s College and completed his vocational teaching certification at Southwestern Community College. He completed his NCCER certification in 2009. Mr. Walker has coached several athletic teams for Franklin County for the last 37 years. Mr. Walker enjoys helping others and serving his community. He is the FHS SkillsUSA advisor. Email Mr. Walker
