Mr. Motley

Mr. Motley graduated in 2011 from Nyack College in New York, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and has worked in education for the last 6 years. A native of New Jersey, he is a hardcore fan of the New York Yankees, the New York Knicks, and the New York Football Giants. Some of his hobbies include playing golf, various instruments, and playing board games.

Mrs. Barbara Mullen

Mrs. Mullen has begun her 22nd year of teaching math.  It is her first year at FHS and fifth year in Franklin County.  Prior to Franklin county, she taught for 17 years in Harnett County.  Mrs. Mullen has taught Algebra 1, Math 1, Math 7, and Math 8 throughout her 22 years. Raised in upstate NY, she earned a bachelor of mathematics from Plymouth State College, NH, and currently holds 3 Masters of Education degrees: Curriculum and Instruction, K-12 Studies, and Administration and Supervision.  She is a proud parent of an Appalachian State student, 3 older stepchildren, and two newly adopted children.

Ms. Kimberly Sharkey

Mrs. Sharkey is a graduate of Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Secondary Education. She has been teaching Math in North Carolina for the last 13 years and came to FHS January of 2015.

Mr. James Wagner

James Wagner is a Mathematician who has been lucky enough to have a widely diverse life through Mathematics. For more than a decade, he has been in Public Education teaching all levels of High School Mathematics. He was recently named to the National Science Foundation Computational Thinking Brain Trust. He started his career as a Statistician at the Center for Demographic Studies (CDS) at Duke University, then a collaborating organization for the UN World Health Organization.. Whilst there, he worked on many diverse projects to include: Work on the National Long Term Care Survey, collaborating using Grade of Membership (GoM) modelling with colleagues from around the world as CDS as well as hosting an invited paper session at the 1st International Fuzzy Theory and Technology Conference. He graduated from The George Mason University with degrees and certifications in Mathematics, Geology, and Applied and Engineering Statistics. He is the Advisor of Mu Alpha Theta and the Math Club as well as well as Coaching the award-winning FHS Math team as well as assisting with FHS Football. In his spare time, Mr. Wagner plays Euphonium with the Triangle Brass Band, Baritone in the Triangle Wind Ensemble and has received awards for crafting pre-17th century hats and the composition of Poetry using medieval European poetry forms. Email Mr. Wagner

Mrs. Jennifer Woodard

Mrs. Woodard is a native of Franklin County and a graduate of Louisburg High School, class of 2006. She went on to attend Fayetteville State University where she received a B.S. in Mathematics Education. Ms. Gibbs previously taught in Cumberland County for 5 years before deciding to take a year off to spend it with her boys, Emmanuel (5) and Gabriel (2). She chose to return to her hometown and that is how she came to be a teacher at Franklinton High School in August 2017.
