Mrs. Miller is originally from GA where her love for teaching began. She has been married to her husband for 15 years; together they have the gift of parenting their two and five-year-old adopted sons. Mrs. Miller graduated from Southeastern College in Wake Forest, NC, with a degree in Biblical Studies, English, and a minor in Secondary Education. She also has additional certification in AP Language and Composition and a certificate in teaching English as a second language. Parenting a visual and hearing impaired medically fragile child has also shaped Mrs. Miller's ability to teach those who need to think outside the box to learn. Mrs. Miller is passionate about her students and aspires to see all students succeed. When not wearing her teacher hat, Mrs. Miller enjoys outdoor activities with her family, working on her blog and future book, and doing anything crafty.

I am a native New Yorker coming from a small town in upstate New York. This is my first year in Franklin County. I have been married for 13 years, and we have three children together. I received my Bachelor’s degree in political science and my Master’s degree in Adolescent Education from SUNY Oswego. In my spare time I love to read, spend time with my family, and coaching the boys’ soccer team. I am looking forward to my career at Franklinton Middle School.

I’m a Franklinton High Alumni that came back to Franklinton Middle School to start my teaching career in 2013. I received my Bachelors Degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and my Lateral Teaching Certification from NC State University. I've recently been named Franklinton Middle School's 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year.  My passion for teaching came from my passion of science and I love bringing that same passion to my students!
