Ms. Groce has taught at FES for 12 years; although this is her 17th year of teaching. She graduated from Millersville University in Pennsylvania in 1998 and moved to North Carolina in 2000 to begin her teaching career. Her first teaching assignment was in the Weldon City School District, in Halifax County for the first 5 years of her career.  She has taught in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades. She loves teaching here at Franklinton Elementary and loves the community. For six years, she was a coach for cheerleading for the Franklinton Lions program. She currently serves on Franklinton Elementary’s PTA Board as the Membership Coordinator. She also has been the yearbook advisor for FES for the past 7 years. Ms. Groce currently lives in Franklinton with her her 11 year old daughter, 3 dogs, and boyfriend.  Her hobbies include: music, movies, family get togethers, four-wheel riding, and corn hole.

Administrative Intern

Ms. Bethea loves teaching as this is her 12th year in the profession; she has taught at Franklinton Elementary for 10 years. She graduated from East Carolina University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Licensure add-on. Hannah received her National Board Certification in Reading/Language Arts Early to Middle Childhood in 2012. She is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program in Educational Leadership at Queen’s University in Charlotte. She is an instructional leader in the North Carolina Association of Educators where she is the President of her local association, works with National Board candidates, and is a member of the College and Career Ready Leadership Team. She has been all over the state providing professional development concerning standards based instruction and National Board Candidate support. Ms. Bethea currently resides in Louisburg N.C. with her yorkie, Lucy. She enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
