Ms. Erica Alston

Ms. Alston, graduate of Louisburg High school, began her teaching journey at Cedar Creek Middle School in the Fall of 2017. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics from North Carolina Central University and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

When she is not teaching, she enjoys physical fitness and playing softball. She enjoys supporting her students inside the classroom and at their extracurricular activities. A teacher's presence outside the classroom makes a difference inside the classroom!

Ms. Nakhle has a B.A. in English Linguistics from Indiana University. She received her teaching certification from NCSU and is certified to teach Middle Grades- ELA. She is married with two wonderful boys and enjoys all the adventure that entails. In her free time she enjoys hiking, gardening, and playing soccer.

I am happy to be a Science teacher! My 22 years-long career abroad as a doctor (pediatrician and pulmonologist) gave way to an educational career during the last 6 years. I love to spend my time with my family and pets, reading, traveling, foreign languages, outdoor activities, and board games. I enjoy adventures and Science is the greatest one! Welcome onboard!

Mrs. Laura VanderHorst

I'm Mrs. V. I have been teaching social studies in Franklin County for the last three years. This is my first year at CCMS. I have worked with students and families for the past 21 years in school settings and as a case worker. I have a BA in history and an AA in early childhood education. I love history and look forward to learning with the seventh grade this year.

I am a native of Ohio and have lived in North Carolina for almost four years. I moved here with my husband, son, and mother. My son is currently a junior at FHS. We have two dogs and a tortoise. I love to be outside especially camping and hiking. I also love to read and am always open to suggestions for good books. Fun facts I have eight brothers and sisters and I am a fan of Harry Potter.
