Mrs. Monica Thompson

I am very excited to be a part of the kindergarten team at Youngsville Elementary School.  I have been a part of the Youngsville Community since 2002. My family moved to Youngsville from Lynchburg, VA after my daughter, Abigayle, was born in 1999. In 2005, I returned to work as a substitute teacher at Y.E.S. I was hired by Franklin County Public Schools in 2006 as an Instructional Assistant/Bus Driver. It was while working in the public school system, I realized that teaching elementary scholars was something I absolutely enjoyed and found to be very rewarding. I attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Virginia, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree. In an effort to further my education, I returned to school, focusing on Elementary Education. I have been blessed to serve most of the families here at Y.E.S. in some capacity over the last ten years. I feel fortunate and honored to be a part of my students continuing education at Youngsville Elementary School.
