Ms. Katie Renze-Beer graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She continued her studies at Pitt, earning her Masters Degree in Secondary Education and K-12 School Administration Certification.  After five years teaching English Language Arts in middle/high school and two years as an elementary instructional coach in Pittsburgh, Ms. Renze-Beer moved to Raleigh, NC in 2016 to begin her role as Assistant Principal at Edward Best Elementary School and will begin her first year as principal during the 2022 - 2023 school year. 

Mrs. Michele Hunt received her bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia in 1992.  She then continued her education by earning a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Piedmont College in Athens, Ga.  Mrs. Hunt also holds certifications as a Reading Specialist and School Administrator. After 15 years as a classroom teacher in Georgia, Mrs. Hunt moved to North Carolina in 2009 and continued teaching.  She served as a Literacy Coach and Intervention Facilitator in Wake County until accepting the position of Assistant Principal at Edward Best Elementary School for the 2022-2023 school year.
