Mrs. Melissa Thomas

I am originally from Texas/Arkansas. I received my degree in Business Education from Ouachita Baptist University and then taught in a CTE High School for nearly nine years before moving to North Carolina to be near family 18 years ago. Most of my time in North Carolina has been spent either as a teacher or an administrator at Wakefield High School. I received my Master’s in School Administration from NC State and I am, and forever will be, a huge Wolfpack fan! My family and I live nearby on a small farm. I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Warrior family and community and serving the parents and students of LHS.

A Message from Principal Thomas

  • August 13, 2020

Dear Louisburg Warrior Families and Students,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. I am so excited to begin my third year here at LHS. I can honestly say that I love my job and I am very invested in my student’s success. This community is a wonderful place to work in and I truly believe that our students are the best.

This year is certainly unprecedented and it will bring new challenges and anxiety for students, guardians, and for our staff but, we will work together as a team and as a team we will make it. Mr. Cullom, Ms. Woodley, and I are here to support your students and our staff through Plan C, Plan B, or Plan A. We are looking forward to cultivating a positive learning environment as we embark on a new journey in education which will move most of us out of our comfort zone, however, our staff is up to the task and so are our students.

We are here to provide every student with the education they need in order to be successful as they move forward. Our students deserve our best. Please review our website for our Remote Learning Schedule along with our new Remote Learning Tab which contains support resources including FAQs, how to tutorials, staff information, and who to contact information. If you have questions please reach out to your child’s teacher(s), one of our counselors, or one of the administrative team members.

I am so proud to be a Warrior and I am looking forward to working with our students and our families.

    Sincerely,

    Melissa Thomas
    Principal

Mr. Christopher Cullom

I was born and raised in Halifax County, NC. I graduated, with a degree in Social Studies Education, from Campbell University in 2008. I spent the next nine years serving as a teacher and baseball coach in Johnston County and Franklin County. I also graduated from NC State with a Master’s in School Administration and I am currently a Doctoral student at NCSU as well. This is my third year serving as an Assistant Principal for Louisburg High School and my ninth year of service to Franklin County Schools. I am also a Franklin County resident and the parent of a Franklin County Schools student. I take a ton of pride in serving this district and our families. It is my belief that the greatest single factor in a student's success is the existence of an advocate. It is my goal to serve the Louisburg community, specifically the students of LHS, and be an advocate for ALL students on our campus
