February 5th, 2021: FCS Earns Statewide Recognition for Outstanding Communication
The North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) has honored Franklin County Schools (FCS) for excellence in communications. FCS earned a total of four Blue Ribbon Awards for outstanding and effective communication.

For Marla Mize, Kindergarten Teacher at Laurel Mill Elementary School, giving back is an innate part of her DNA. Her father was a local small business owner who helped provide families with vehicles, and her brother is known for organizing toy giveaways during the holiday season.

December 16, 2020: TLMS Selected for NC Symphony Adopt-a-School Program
The North Carolina Symphony has launched a brand new program for the state called NC Symphony Adopt-a-School Program, with Mr. Jason Spencer, Education Director, leading the program. This program aims to match a musician from the symphony to an educator and provide a co-teaching format to connect the students to professional musicians.
