The Bunn High School Exceptional Children department's mission is to ensure that students with disabilities develop intellectually, physically, emotionally, and vocationally through the provision of an appropriate individualized education program in the least restrictive environment. The BHS EC department supports students following the General Course of Study, the Occupational Course of Study, and Adaptive Courses of study. Through extracurricular activities such as Club Unify, Special Olympics, and Student led IEP Meetings and Post-Secondary Education Transition Plans, the BHS EC department aims to provide an inclusive environment for all students that promotes strong self-advocacy skills.

Mrs. Linnea Anderson
Ms. Anderson has been at BHS since 1996. She assists students in the Curriculum Assistance Lab who need testing accommodations, math tutoring or need help in any of their other classes. She grew up in Saltsburg, PA and attended Clarion University. She enjoys gardening, crafts, spending time with her family and especially her 2 new grandchildren.

Ms. Kandar Artis
My name is Kandar Artis (Kendra Brewer). My family moved to Bunn in 1995 where I attended 8th grade at Edward Best School. My life at Bunn High began in August of 1996. I am an alumni of BHS in the graduating class of 2000. The summer after my junior year of high school I enlisted in the US Army - National Guard. I was a member of the Army - National Guard from 1999-2004. During that time I attended North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mt, NC. Graduating in 2005 with a major in Psychology. In May of 2005 my first job was at an alternative behavior school.
I was hired at Cedar Creek Middle School in 2006 where I continued my education to receive my teaching license. In 2011, I received a job at Southern Nash High School. In 2015, I was able to come back to Franklin County to teach at Bunn Middle School. 2018 has allowed me to return to familiar stomping grounds as a teacher at Bunn High School. My 14 years of teaching have all been in the Exceptional Children's Department.
I have a passion for Special Education and those with special needs.
I love time with my one son, sports, and coaching. It's an honor to be at BHS and a Wildcat all over again! There's no place like home!

Stormi Barham
My name is Stormi Barham, and I was born and raised in Bunn, NC. I graduated from Bunn High School in 2010 and continued my education at East Carolina University. I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
I taught my first year in Wake County, then went into college admissions at Louisburg College. After a year there, I was hired at Bunn High School, with a start date of August, 2017. I am in the Exceptional Children's Department,BHS Relay for Life Team Leader and the Student Council Advisor. It's honor to be back at BHS and a Wildcat all over again!

Ms. Frankie Bartholomew
Ms. Bartholomew has been at BHS since 2010. She is originally from Franklin County and graduated from Louisburg College. She received her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Meredith College. In addition to serving as a BHS Exceptional Children's teacher, Ms. Bartholomew is a sponsor of the Knitting Club and enjoys reading, writing, swimming and cooking.

My name is Morgan Lawrence. This will be my fifth year teaching Special Education and my fourth year at Bunn High School. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2014. I am continuing my education and working on my Master's in Special Education at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I am from the mountains of West Jefferson, NC. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, crafting, and being outdoors. I'm a cat lover and have two cats, Sirah and Luna. I'm very excited to be back at BHS!

Mrs. Maryanne Lewis
Mrs. Lewis is originally from Albany NY and has lived in Zebulon “Pilot”, since 1988. Mrs. Lewis received her Bachelor's Degree from University of New York at Buffalo and received her National Boards in 2008. Mrs. Lewis began teaching Exceptional Children at Bunn Middle School in 2005. She then transferred to the Adaptive Classroom at Bunn High school in 2012.
Mrs. Lewis taught in Wake County during the 2016-17 school year and returned to Franklin County in 2017-18 to teach the Occupational Course of Study. Mrs. Lewis obtained her certification in Deaf Blindness from East Carolina University in the Spring of 2018.
Mrs. Lewis is glad to be back in the Adaptive Classroom at Bunn High School.
