Meet Bunn High School Principal Daniel Wright

Mr. Daniel Wright
Mr. Wright is entering his 27th year in education all with Franklin County Schools and first as the principal of Bunn High School. He began his career as an Exceptional Children’s Teacher Assistant and bus driver at Bunn High School. After two years in that position, Mr. Wright served as the In-School Suspension Coordinator for six years. In 2000 Mr. Wright was at Bunn Middle School where he served as Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts teacher. He also served one season as the soccer coach. In 2005, Mr. Wright returned to Bunn High School where he served as a World and United States History teacher.
In 2008 Mr. Wright was named Assistant Principal of Bunn High and has held that role for ten years. In 2014 he was named Franklin County Assistant Principal of the Year. During that time, he supervised teachers through classroom observations, assisted in the development of school performance goals and was involved in the schools’ disciplinary policies. Mr. Wright has also served as the Head JV basketball coach for both the men’s and women’s team, Assistant basketball coach for both the men’s and women’s teams, Head Coach of the Varsity women’s program, Cross Country coach, and Women’s Track and Field Coach.
Mr. Wright is a graduate of Bunn High School. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Politics and Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 1986 from North Carolina Wesleyan College and his Masters of School Administration degree in 2010 from Western Carolina University. He is married to Cheryl Wright and has a stepdaughter and two grandchildren.
Meet Assistant Principal Ms. Laura Wilson

Ms. Laura Wilson
Laura is a graduate from North Carolina State University, with a Master’s Degree in School Administration and was a member of the North East Leadership Academy Cohort IV (NELA). NELA is a fully funded scholarship program, ranked Top Principal Prepartory Program in the United States, (one of only five to earn this distinction from the University Council of Education Administration).
Laura also earned an undergraduate degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from NC State and taught 9-12th grade Mathematics at Franklinton High School for nearly a decade. She was recognized as Franklin County Schools Secondary Mathematics Educator of the Year in the 2014-2015 school year. Additionally, she participated in the North Carolina Governor’s Teacher Network and Aspire (NCSU’s ACT Prep-Class Training).
In her last years in the classroom, Laura served as the Math Department chair, served on the school leadership team, school improvement team, and the school's professional development team. Throughout her career, she also served as a teacher mentor, student government sponsor, Varsity cheerleading coach, and Competition team cheerleading coach.
Laura served at Bunn High School during her Principal Residency year.
