News Release: Laura Wilson-Wadsworth Named New Principal of ECHS

Laura Wilson-Wadsworth, a North Carolina State University doctoral student, is set to become the next principal of Franklin County Early College High School. Mrs. Wilson-Wadsworth was the lead administrator for the Franklin County Schools (FCS)Virtual Academy during the 2021-2022 school year. She has served as the Assistant Principal at Bunn High School since 2018. Before becoming an assistant principal, Mrs. Wilson-Wadsworth was a mathematics teacher at Franklinton High School for ten years. "During my time with FCS, I have had the pleasure of serving as a teacher and coach in the Franklinton district, working as an assistant principal in Bunn, and my husband and I live in the Louisburg community. I believe these experiences have prepared me well to serve and celebrate the diversity of our student body. I am incredibly excited to become a member of the Eagle family and to have the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic group of supportive and dedicated educators," says Mrs. Wilson-Wadsworth. Mrs. Wilson-Wadsworth is a former FCS assistant principal of the year (2021). She was the Secondary Mathematics Educator of the Year in 2014-2015 and a Kappa Delta Pi International Honors Society member. Dr. Rhonda Schuhler, Superintendent of FCS says, "I am excited to see Mrs. Wilson-Wadsworth continue the tradition of high academic standards at Early College High School while also leveraging new opportunities to increase the program." Laura Wilson-Wadsworth received her Master of School Administration and her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University.
