News Release: Jovon Blacknall Named Principal of Bunn Middle School

Louisburg, NC – Franklin County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Jovon D. Blacknall as the new principal of Bunn Middle School, effective July 1st, 2025.
Mr. Blacknall brings a dynamic blend of servant leadership and transformational vision to his new role. With a strong foundation in educational leadership and student development, Blacknall has most recently served as Assistant Principal at Louisburg Magnet High School, where he was recognized as the 2025 Franklin County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year.
“I am incredibly grateful and honored to be selected as the next principal of Bunn Middle School,” said Blacknall. “This opportunity means so much to me, and I am excited to lead with purpose and passion. I look forward to serving our students with dedication, empowering our staff to thrive, and working collaboratively with families and the greater community to ensure every student’s success. Together, we will continue to build a school culture rooted in excellence, support, and pride.”
In addition to his recent leadership honor, Mr. Blacknall was named the 2023 FCS NCCAT CTE Teacher of the Year, recognizing his dedication to instructional excellence during his tenure at Bunn High School. Throughout his educational career, he has held multiple roles, including classroom teacher, coach, Professional Learning Community (PLC) leader, and member of the school improvement team.
Blacknall holds a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner-Webb University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from North Carolina Central University.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Blacknall to this new leadership role,” said Franklin County Schools Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Schuhler. “His deep commitment to student success, strong communication skills, and ability to build positive relationships make him an excellent fit for Bunn Middle School.”
