Louisburg, NC — Franklin County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dail Bunting as the new principal of Cedar Creek Middle School. With more than 23 years of experience in public education in North Carolina, Mrs. Bunting brings a wealth of expertise, passion, and proven leadership to her new role.

Bunting most recently served as Assistant Principal at West Millbrook Magnet Middle School in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she has been instrumental since 2022 in enhancing student achievement, increasing teacher effectiveness, and fostering a professional and collaborative school environment. During her tenure, she oversaw sixth-grade operations, including parent communication, discipline, and instructional support. Her leadership contributed to improved academic outcomes, a culture of high expectations, and strengthened professional learning communities (PLCs).

Bunting's career highlights include significant improvements in student proficiency and growth under her leadership, particularly in math and reading. As a collaborative leader, she emphasizes data-driven decision-making and professional development to enhance instructional practices and foster a culture of mutual respect. Her dedication to creating engaging, rigorous, and relevant learning experiences has been a cornerstone of her career.

Bunting's educational background reflects her dedication to excellence. She earned her Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2020 and completed administrative internships at Millbrook High School and Durant Road Middle School. She also holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from Elizabeth City State University, where she researched the effects of block scheduling on standardized testing. Her undergraduate studies were completed at North Carolina State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education, graduating with honors.

Her extensive experience, dedication to student success, and strong leadership skills make her the perfect fit to lead Cedar Creek Middle School.
