Louisburg, NC — Franklin County Schools is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jerri Valentine-Terry as the new Assistant Principal of Franklinton Middle School. A dedicated educator and leader, Mrs. Valentine-Terry has been an integral part of the Franklinton Middle School community since 2013, supporting students and staff in various roles.
Mrs. Valentine-Terry’s career at Franklinton Middle School began as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher, where she earned recognition as the school’s Teacher of the Year and received a CenturyLink Grant for Innovative Technology, highlighted in a WRAL News article. Beyond the classroom, she has held numerous leadership roles, including Lego Robotics Facilitator, Beginning Teacher Mentor, After-School Tutoring Program Coordinator, Cheerleading Coach, and Site Coordinator for the Boys & Girls Club.
After her tenure as a CTE teacher, Mrs. Valentine-Terry transitioned to the role of Instructional Coach, where she worked closely with staff to enhance teaching practices and support student achievement.
“I am deeply honored to step into the role of assistant principal at the school I’ve called home for over a decade,” said Mrs. Valentine-Terry. “This community means so much to me, and I look forward to continuing to serve our students, families, and staff in this new capacity.”
Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Schuhler expressed her confidence in Mrs. Valentine-Terry’s leadership, stating, “Jerri Valentine-Terry embodies the spirit of dedication and innovation that we strive for in Franklin County Schools. Her deep roots in the Franklinton Middle School community and her proven track record as a leader make her the ideal choice for this role. We are excited to see her continue to inspire excellence in her new capacity.”
Mrs. Valentine-Terry holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from Longwood University, a Master’s Degree in Management from Cambridge College, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Saint Paul’s College, and an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Southside Virginia Community College.
