News Release: FHS Welcomes Carter as New AP

Lavonne Carter will join the Ram Family as its newest Assistant Principal. Carter brings with her a wealth of experience and a commitment to furthering the school's mission and vision. "I am EXCITED to join the Ram Family at Franklinton High School as an assistant principal, and I look forward to getting to know the people that make this school so great! My commitment is to do all I can to carry out the school's mission and vision so our students can be well prepared for life after high school, says Carter."
Carter's educational background is well-suited for her new role. She earned her Bachelor of Art in History and African American Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later achieved a Master's in School Administration from North Carolina Central University in May 2023. Her educational journey includes a dedication to excellence and a passion for helping students succeed.
With 11 years of experience in education, Carter has a diverse professional background. She spent four years as a middle school social studies teacher in Lee County, followed by three years in a similar role in Wake County. She has also served as a high school social studies teacher for three years.
Carter spent a year as a principal intern in Durham County, gaining valuable administrative experience. Her combination of teaching experience and administrative training makes her a valuable asset to FHS. Principal Dr. Russell Holloman states, "We could not be more excited to have Mrs. Carter join the Red Ram Family! Her background with high school curriculum and genuine personality will be a welcome addition to our leadership team, and I'm sure she will quickly see why FHS is a great place to learn, work, and grow!"
