Bunn High School Celebrates 2026 NCHSAA 4A Baseball State Championship with Ring Ceremony
LOUISBURG, N.C. — Franklin County Schools proudly celebrated the Bunn High School baseball team as student-athletes and coaches received their 2026 NCHSAA 4A Baseball State Championship rings, commemorating a historic season for Bunn High School and the Franklin County Schools district.
The Wildcats captured the 2026 state championship in May after sweeping the Burns Bulldogs in the championship series at the North Main Athletic Complex in Holly Springs. Bunn secured a 3-2 victory in Game 1 before defeating Burns 7-5 in Game 2 to claim the championship.
The Wildcats completed their remarkable season with an overall 26-3 record. The championship marked Bunn Baseball’s first state title since 1979 and Bunn High School’s first-ever NCHSAA 4A state championship.
“This championship is a tremendous accomplishment for Bunn High School and all of Franklin County Schools,” said FCS Superintendent Dr. Nakia Hardy. “These student-athletes and coaches demonstrated the dedication, discipline and teamwork required to achieve something truly special. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented their school, their families and our entire district, and we are excited to celebrate a moment they will remember for years to come.”
The championship ring ceremony provided an opportunity for players, coaches, families, school leaders and supporters to come together and celebrate the dedication and teamwork that led to the historic accomplishment. The rings now serve as a lasting reminder of the hard work, discipline and commitment demonstrated by the Wildcats throughout their championship season.
Franklin County Schools congratulates the Bunn High School student-athletes, coaches, families and the entire Wildcat community on this tremendous achievement. Their success represents a proud moment in Bunn High School history and a milestone worthy of celebration across the FCS community.
Congratulations, Bunn Wildcats, 2026 NCHSAA 4A Baseball State Champions!
