The 2019-2020 school year will be Mr. Betheil's 23nd in the field of education and he says,"I enjoy what I do each day." Mr. Betheil received his BA in English from the University of Rhode Island, his MAT from Monmouth University, and Licensure in School Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. His teaching career began at his alma mater, Westwood High School (Go Cards!), where he taught for 9 years, teaching English and coaching soccer, wrestling and golf.
Upon relocating to NC, Mr. Betheil taught at Wakefield High School for 3 years. He then transitioned to school administration and has served as an AP at Davis Drive Middle School and Wakefield High School. He currently live in Wake Forest with my wife Deb and their two daughters Maddie and Haylie. He looks forward to continuing to serve as the school leader at Terrell Lane Middle School, where he has been for 4 years, and work closely with FCS and the Louisburg community.

Ms. Gulewich is originally from Roseburg, Oregon and had the opportunity to live in Germany, New York, Oahu Hawaii and has called North Carolina home for the last 19 years. She earned both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in German from University of Oregon as a first generation college graduate, a Master in School Administration degree as a NC Principal Fellow from NC State University where she began working on her doctorate in summer of 2020. Ms. Gulewich began her teaching career as a middle and high school German teacher at Carnage MS and Broughton HS in Raleigh. She left the German classroom after 16 years to support teachers and students in affecting meaningful change within the school building. She was thrilled to join the Terrell Lane MS family in December of 2020. Ms. Gulewich is a proud mother of two grown children with whom she loves to hike, travel and listen to German hip hop, rap and rock music. Ms. Gulewich hopes to inspire, collaborate, challenge and celebrate you as a part of our school family.
Candice Murtagh, Assistant Principal
Ms. Murtagh was born and raised in Franklin County. She is proud to have been a product of the Franklin County School System. She earned her undergraduate degree from NC State University in 2003. After teaching for 13 years, she was awarded the opportunity to be part of NC State University’s Educational Leadership Academy (NELA) where she graduated with a Master's Degree in School Administration in 2018. This is her 16th year in education. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal at Terrell Lane, she taught science at Terrell Lane. "I love being part of the leadership here. This school and our students hold a special place in my heart. I feel very lucky that my job at our school is a favorite place of mine!"
