    2018-2019 General Information



    Franklin County Schools, Before and After School Child Care, offers affordable, safe, and convenient care for school age children in each of the County’s Elementary Schools.  (Excluding Laurel Mill and Louisburg Elementary)

     

    Daily Schedule:

    Before School…….6:00 a.m. until school begins

    After School……….School dismissal until 6:30 p.m.

     

    Fees and Registration

    Franklin County Schools Before and After School Child Care Program is a non-profit, self-supporting service.  Fees are necessary to cover costs.

     

    If you need additional information, please meet with the On-Site Coordinator or the Principal at the school site.

     

    If you sign your child up for Mini-Camp, you will be charged $20.00, whether or not your child attend.  The reason for this is that we are saving that space for your child and plan for him or her to attend.

     

    The Before and After Care Program at each site location will remain in operation based on the sustainability which will be determined by Franklin County Schools.   

     

    The On-Site Coordinator should be contacted if your child will no longer attend the program.  The Coordinator should go into the system and mark InActive for the child and provide the parent invoice of any balances that are outstanding.

     DISCIPLINE AND BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT POLICY


        Each child enrolled in Franklin County Schools receives a handbook called the “Student Code of Conduct”.  This handbook contains the information on the expectations for behavior for all students of Franklin County Schools.  These rules and sanctions have been adopted by the Franklin County Board of Education and represent its official policy.  If you or your child did not receive this handbook, please see the Principal’s office at your school to get your copy.    

        Each Site Coordinator will be responsible for the minor behavior situations and any others should be reported to the Principal immediately.

    Before and After School Child Care

    Parent Contract 2018-19

     

    1. Children must be picked up by scheduled closing time unless there is an emergency that necessitates other arrangements. Parents of children picked up after scheduled closing will be assessed an additional charge.  ($3.00 first minute late and $1.00 each additional minute)

     

      1. The billing procedure is as follows:
        1. Any new child attending the program must pay a $25.00 registration fee.  If you have a child/children already in the program, your registration fee will be waived if registration is received before July 1, 2018.  

     

    • No child will be registered who has an outstanding balance from a previous year.
    • All monthly invoices must be paid prior to your child attending the following month.
    • Full Payment is due whether or not your child is present each school day. There will be no proration of fees. The only exceptions are late enrollments or early departures.  

     

      1. The current fee schedule approved by the Board of Education is attached (Appendix A). The monthly fees are based on the number of student days per month (Appendix B).
      2. There is no discount for multiple children enrolled in the program.
      3. Invoices will be available online and/or when requested.

    1. Please be sure your phone number is on your check.

     

    1. Parents must come inside the building in the mornings to sign their child/children in and in the afternoons to sign their child/children out.  There is a “sign-in” and “sign-out” sheet for you to use.

     

    1. Discipline problems will be handled by the Site Coordinator and/or the Principal in accordance with Student Code of Conduct currently enforced by Franklin County Schools.  The grievance procedure shall be as follows:
    1. Parents should first consult with the Site Coordinator.
    2. If further contact is required, the situation should be discussed with the school Principal.
    3. Unresolved situations may be heard by the Superintendent, or the full Board of Education if deemed necessary by the above-mentioned parties.

     

    1. Parents are asked to review the current early release policy so they will be familiar with the procedure.  If school opening is delayed there will be no Before School Care.  If school is closed due to inclement weather, there will be no Before and/or After School Program that day.  If school is released early due to inclement weather, there will be no After School Care.

     

    1. Registration form, emergency information, and signed contract are required for all students.   

     

    1. If your child changes status (withdrawal or other changes) any time during the school year, you must notify the Site Coordinator in advance of the change. If you fail to make notification, you will be responsible for the fees up to 30 days.

     

    1. Dress code for the program is the same as the rules set forth by the Franklin County Board of Education.
