Remote Learning Day
Covid-19 has created many learning challenges for schools. One of the key tools that can have a positive impact on your child’s learning is IReady. Every student in K-5 took a diagnostic earlier in the year to inform us about their reading and math abilities. Based on that data, Iready sets each student on a pathway to build important reading and math skills. In other words, it takes them from where they are and moves them forward. The goal is for each student to make significant growth in those subjects. We are requiring 45 minutes of reading and 45 minutes of math in Iready each week. That is approximately 15 minutes per day. But it can only happen if students use it. Please help us and make sure your child is using the tool at home. Don’t let this opportunity for learning growth go to waste. This short video is helpful to you to support your child at home. Iready
Help YES Teachers
This year our school is partnering with SchoolStore to raise funds to purchase essential tools for classrooms. Your child received a letter outlining how to participate in SchoolStore. After reviewing this information, please go to www.schoolstore.net to get signed up. Students receive prizes for participating. Please support this safe and easy way to help us raise money for our school!

Franklin County Schools Families:
Franklin County Schools is encouraging district families to complete applications for free and reduced meals, or indicate their intention to purchase school meals, by Monday, August 31st.
Taking action now to apply prior to the deadline will help determine the breadth of the district’s meal service, as well as its potential structure and delivery system logistics beginning Tuesday, September 1st. Based on current state guidance, students who qualify for reduced meals for the 2020-21 school year will actually receive meals free of charge.
“Having access to an affordable, nutritious school meal is a vital component that helps maximize the learning potential of thousands of our students,” said Dr. Rhonda Schuhler, Superintendent of Franklin County Schools. “We are committed to creating solutions to any obstacles that keep our students from participating in the district’s nutrition program, regardless of the plan for student instruction (A, B or C) under which we are operating.”
FCS’ families can apply online at www.fcschools.net by visiting the “Services” tab and clicking on the “Free and Reduced Lunch Application” link in the drop down menu, which is available here: Free and Reduced Lunch Application. Families can also visit their school to complete an application.
For those families who don’t qualify for free or reduced benefits, the cost for FCS’ nutritious breakfast is $1.25, while the cost for the fresh lunch is only $2.70. Parents can preorder and prepay by contacting their schools or emailing FCS Nutrition Services for more details.
