FCS' COVID-19 Response

  • Franklin County Schools Families:

We miss having our students in our schools each day, and we are committed to staying connected with you as we move forward. This COVID-19 Update website is one way we are communicating with our community moving forward. We are also using social media, phone calls, text messages, emails and other channels to assist you in staying up-to-date on the latest COVID-19 actions being taken by FCS.

We have staff, teachers and principals serving meals, planning for instruction, improving our facilities and connecting with students and families during what has been an unprecedented time for us. At FCS, we are grateful to be working with you and our dedicated staff during this challenging time. We are all in this together.

We are serving more than 5,000 meals each weekday and continue to offer meal pickup Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. As a reminder, meal pickup is taking place at Bunn High, Franklinton Elementary, Laurel Mill Elementary, Louisburg High and Youngsville Elementary.

The meal includes lunch, a snack, and breakfast items. Please keep in mind -- this food is being provided to ensure that our students have meals when they are not in school. If there are additional needs for the elderly and shut-ins in our community, you are encouraged to reach out to community agencies and our churches for assistance in this area. You can locate some of those resources on this website by clicking the following link: Community Resources

We have distributed student assignments several times during the COVID-19 closure. These were provided in an online format, as well as in printed packets for our students who do not have internet access. Moving forward, students are asked to visit their own school websites and follow the directions included at the following link: Remote Learning Resources

Information regarding the Class of 2020 can be found at this link: Class of 2020 Update

There will continue to additional information (as well as speculation) regarding COVID-19 and our response to this virus as we end 2019-20 and transition into 2020-21. We are committed to communicating the most up-to-date and accurate information as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to take the social distancing guidance that we have been receiving seriously. We want to flatten the curve of this virus, and to accomplish this we need you to stay home, stay safe and follow the guidance that you have been given from the CDC and state and local officials. If we all listen to this guidance and work together, there will be a bright light at the end of this tunnel. We are anxious to see our students again as soon as possible.

    Thank you and stay well!
