FCS Moodle application is 90% functional. We are still working on some features, but users can access the database.

FCS Moodle application experiencing database errors, possibly related to recent upgrade. Our Moodle technical support vendor has been notified. We will update as we know more.

The entire FCS network has been restored. All applications running normally.

Planned Network Upgrade--December 28th (all day)

The entire FCS network (email, network drives, internet) will undergo routine maintenance. Users will not be able to access email inside or outside the FCS network. The outage is scheduled to last all day.

FCS Webmail outside of the district/network and all Mobile Device (Apple, Android, Blackberry, etc) email is currently down due to an email upgrade. More information will come.

Previous Network Projects:

Week of October 31-November 4 (updated 11/2!):

  1. Builds tower on Tuesday 11/1 - Wednesday 11/2
  2. Stack tower on Thursday 11/3 PM
  3. Relocate TLMS 5GHz link to new tower Thursday 11/3 PM
  4. Bring the WAN up on the 100 mb/sec link on Thursday (**possible sluggish network**)
  5. Remove remaining equipment from old tower / drop tower Friday 11/3 PM
  6. Install Gig link, Central Office, Maintenance links on new tower Friday/Saturday 11/4
  7. (11/3 pm-11/4 am--OUTAGE)--Maintenance/Bus Garage and MMC/International Center
  8. Switch link back to GB radio on Friday afternoon.
  9. (BES OUTAGE TBD) Replace cable at BHS on the BHS to BES link.  BES outage.
  10. Install TC to CCMS link Monday 11/7 - Tuesday 11/8
  11. CCMS/FES/YES/RES (1-2 hours) --Tentatively Saturday/Sunday 11/5-11/6

Schools experienced a brief outage today due to a blown transformer at 53 West River Road. The Town of Louisburg quickly repaired this problem. All connectivity has been restored.

Lightspeed issued a fix to the problem. Filtering policies are being administered correctly now.

The FCS network upgrade has begun. Long Mill's network has been taken down to upgrade the radios on its tower. At 3:00pm today the rest of the schools will be taken down for upgrades. CENTRAL OFFICE and WEST RIVER ROAD ANNEX will continue to function.

Bunn Elementary is experiencing network connectivity problems due to the wind and interference with the wireless radios between BES and BHS. Technology is working to put in place a temporary solution as quickly as possible. Updates to follow.

The Moodle server is now operational. Please make sure you talk to your ITF before creating a course. Today's crash was due in part to many people creating a course at the same time.
