Effective,
August 1st, 2008 - All FCS Property is Tobacco Free
The North Carolina state legislature passed a law in 2007
stating that all public schools in North Carolina will be
tobacco free effective August 1st, 2008.
The Law by the book:
"North Carolina Law prohibits at all
times the use of any tobacco product by any person in school
buildings, in school facilities, on school campuses, and in or
on any other school property owned or operated by the local
school administrative unit." - General Statute 115C-407
Smoking Cessation Classes
In an effort to assist employees and
students who are interested in quitting smoking, there will be
smoking cessation classes offered in April or May and July of
2008. Refer to this website in the future for specific times and
dates of the classes. Classes will be held in the Mitchell Media
Center on Dogwood Drive in Louisburg. A class consist of four
hours, one hour each on Tuesday and Thursday for two consecutive
weeks. The first class schedule will be on April 15, 17, 22 and
24 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. each day. Additional classes are yet to
be announced, but could take place in July if requested.
