Franklin County
Schools
Franklin County Schools (FCS) consists of 14
schools and
more than 8,500 students. FCS will expand to 15 schools
with the addition of Long Mill Elementary School in
August of 2008. Of the 14 existing schools, there are
seven elementary schools, three middle schools, three
high schools and one alternative school. To visit a

Franklin County has a population of nearly 55,000 people
in a rural setting but is close to the North Carolina
Capitol – Raleigh. The county seat is Louisburg, which
is located in the center of the county.
