Online Staff Development Opportunities

  • Do you need CEUs, but you find it hard to find the time or the energy to stay after school for staff development sessions? 
  • Do you want to go to sessions on workdays, but you have too much to do or you really need to take a long deserved three-day weekend?
  • Do you have access to a computer that is connected to the Internet?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you may want to consider an alternative to traditional staff development. Franklin County Schools has sought out ways for you to take online courses and earn CEUs.  Some of these courses are free, others have a fee.  There is a wide variety of topics to choose from.  If you are interested in this alternative method of earning CEUs, then explore the links below. 

LEARN NC
The North Carolina Teachers' Network site offers excellent resources for teachers and students alike. Teachers can access lesson plans, keep up on current news, trends and events in education, as well as gaining access to valuable resources, including online courses. You must be registered at LearnNC, but now you can register yourself almost instantly online.  Be sure to check the courses open for registration. Additional courses on this site may be available for Franklin County School employees in the not too distant future.

GCF Global Learning

Goodwill Community Foundation offers free online training. Most subjects are related to Microsoft products like Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint. New classes start weekly.

UNC-Charlotte
