Uploading
your page
You must be an employee of
Franklin County Schools in North Carolina to become a webmaster within the FCS
system.
- If
you have received the EZ web training here in Franklin County, you were given a
card to present to your school webmaster when you are ready for a link to be
made on the school page. After that, you can update your page from any computer,
anywhere, that is connected to the Internet.
- If
you have a page on geocities.com, or if you have files for a webpage
already created, contact
the Web Facilitator to arrange to have your page added to the FCS EZ web
list. You must then
be trained in the policies and guidelines for web pages adopted by the
school system. At the end of training, you will be given the authorization
card to give to your school webmaster when you are ready for a link to be made
on the school page. After that, you can update your page from any computer,
anywhere, that is connected to the Internet.
Notes to School Level Webmasters: (not
classroom level webmasters)
- Since all our pages
are hosted on one server, we ask that all webmasters keep only actively
used files in their folder on the web server. Remove pictures and
files that are not being used in the most current version of your web page.
This will help us allow each webmaster a maximum of web space and may help
prevent server problems.
- The entire Franklin
County Schools web server is backed up every Friday. If you accidentally
change your page, and cannot fix it, you can contact the Web Facilitator
and request a re-install of the previous version of your page. But if the
web server gets backed up before you ask for assistance, the Web Facilitator
will be unable to retrieve your original file. It is suggested that you
keep a backup of your own.
