Mrs. Lewis has organized Community Helper Fridays. The last Friday of each month, the students are visited by another helper from our community.
9-26-08 First Graders loved Mr. Holt's telling of the story, Rip Van Winkle. He also shared information about his job with Franklin County Libraries and explained some of the libraries' programs available to children. He gave each child a "Dream, Do, and Share" pamphlet that teaches all about libraries.
Here are some photos of when Chief Winstead came to talk to us. He is the Chief of Police of Bunn. Chief Winstead talk to the kids about ways to keep safe. . .what to stay away from and who to call if you need help. He reminded the children never open the door to strangers and if your home alone, don't tell the person at the door. There is also a photo of my students writing a thank you note. --Mrs. Lewis
