PTA GOALS
Surveys regarding PTA goals and projects were distributed at
the September 18 PTA meeting. If you did not get one and would like your
input to be considered as the Board formulates their goals for 2008-2010,
please contact Chris Schmidt. Return your completed survey to a PTA Board
member or place in PTA suggestion box located in the main lobby by November 2.
Survey results will be posted following the November PTA meeting.

Santa Shop is a service offered
to allow children an opportunity to purchase gifts for their family and
friends. It is not a fundraiser for the PTA but we do try to cover our
expenses. The children get excited to have true surprises to give loved
ones. Volunteers needed to work store during school hours each day and
evening hours on Dec. 4

We would like to encourage all parents to volunteer with the PTA. Family involvement is crucial to building strong schools. Did you know that research shows that children do better in school when the parent is actively involved in the school? Please contact any PTA officer if you are interested in volunteering. Please indicate your area of interest.
Membership
Recruit members; assist
with membership drive; research resources available to BES through NCPTA;
inform BES family about benefits of membership
Parents, family
members and friends can join NCPTA for only $5.

Special Events
Serve as testing monitors; assist with events such as
Main Event, Santa Shop, Spring Fling, Teacher Appreciation week, special
presentations
Health & Safety
Observe and make recommendations regarding any health and
safety issues, established policies and procedures (severe weather/fire/lock
down/etc.); assist in facility maintenance i.e. playgrounds, carpool and bus
area; offer assistance to school for health/safety related activities i.e. Fire
Prevention Week
Hospitality
Assist with set up of PTA meetings, snacks provided for
teachers on early release days, teacher appreciation luncheon, welcome speakers
and special guests
Fundraising
Assist with Candy Man, Spring Fling and passive
fundraisers i.e. Box Tops
